Established in 2018 by the RV Educational Institutions (RVEI), M.K. Panduranga Setty Memorial RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS) was founded in response to the growing complexity of disputes, rising crime and emerging challenges such as cybercrime within an evolving legal landscape. Situated in Bengaluru, a leading centre for professional education, the Institute was conceived with a distinct and contemporary approach to legal training.
Renamed in honour of Dr M.K. Panduranga Setty, President Emeritus of RSST, the institution reflects a legacy of service and academic responsibility. RVILS is affiliated with Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
The Institute offers the B.A., LL.B., B.B.A., LL.B., and B.Com., LL.B. 5-year integrated programmes, along with the 3-year LL.B. programme. It is committed to producing competent legal professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to the courts, the profession, and society at large.
Imparting legal education to create globally competent and socially relevant professionals.
RV Educational Institutions was founded in 1940 by the late M.C. Sivananda Sarma on a conviction that education is not a privilege, but a right. What began as a single school has, over eight decades, grown into a network of 28+ institutions serving more than 24,000 students and supported by over 3,000 staff members. The academic framework spans kindergarten to postgraduate education across technology, health sciences, management, humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and legal studies.
RVEI has always believed that a well-rounded institution must serve a wide cross-section of society. That includes education for students with special needs and sustained outreach to the less privileged. Rural health camps and community awareness programmes reflect this commitment and further underscore that the institution’s responsibility does not end at its gates.
Its enduring motto, “Go, change the world”, is the standard RVEI has held itself to for over eight decades.
