Activities

The Cultural Committee of MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS) coordinates cultural programmes and student events conducted throughout the academic year. These activities provide students with opportunities to participate in music, dance, theatre and other creative performances alongside their academic pursuits.

The committee organises programmes such as Freshers’ Day, cultural competitions, festive celebrations and institutional events, encouraging students to showcase their talents and contribute to the campus’s cultural life.

Kannada Rajyothsava celebrations

The Kannada Rajyothsava celebrations at MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies were held on 29th November, 2025, embracing the rich cultural heritage and linguistic pride of Karnataka. The event began at 10:00 AM on campus with a dignified flag hoisting ceremony, where students, faculty, and guests came together in unity and respect. The singing of the Naada Geethe added a patriotic and heartfelt touch, setting an inspiring tone for the day. The formal programme commenced at 10:25 AM in the Mangala Mantapa auditorium. A soulful invocation dance was performed as a graceful presentation that created a serene and devotional atmosphere and provided a meaningful start to the celebration. The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS, emphasised the significance of Kannada Rajyothsava and encouraged students to cherish and uphold their culture, language, and traditions. He appreciated the efforts of the organising team and urged students to continue participating actively in cultural events. Following this, the dignitaries came forward for the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolising enlightenment, positivity, and collective harmony. This moment marked the official commencement of the cultural celebrations. The programme progressed with the introduction of the Chief Guest, where the accomplishments of Shri Sunil Kumar (Simple Suni), a renowned Kannada film director and producer, were highlighted, acknowledging his creative contributions to the Kannada film industry. In his inspiring address, the Chief Guest shared insights from his journey in cinema, motivating students to remain dedicated, confident, and passionate about their aspirations. He emphasised the importance of hard work and encouraged everyone to value and uphold their cultural heritage. The event concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where awards were presented to the winners of various competitions organised as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. This segment brought excitement and encouragement to the awardees, inspiring others to participate with enthusiasm in upcoming events. The celebration stood as a vibrant expression of cultural pride, unity, and student engagement, reflecting the institution’s commitment to honouring Karnataka’s rich legacy.

As part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies organised an engaging series of student-centred activities on the 21st and 22nd of November, 2025. The two-day event lineup featured Debate, Painting, Quiz, and Essay Writing competitions, offering students a vibrant platform to showcase their ideas, creativity, and intellectual abilities. These activities not only highlighted the diverse talents of ou r students but also helped build enthusiasm and cultural spirit ahead of the main celebration. The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS, whose presence added great encouragement to the participants. The celebrations and competitions were efficiently coordinated by Ms Potnuru Monica, Coordinator of the Cultural Committee, ensuring smooth execution and enthusiastic participation across all events. The institution proudly marked Kannada Rajyothsava with an atmosphere of learning, creativity, and cultural pride—reflecting its commitment to fostering holistic development and honouring Karnataka’s rich heritage.

On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day (19th August 2025), the Legal Services Clinic of MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS) organised a Pick and Speak Competition in Lecture Hall 302 at 1:40 pm. The event aimed to foster spontaneity, analytical thinking, and public speaking among students while reflecting on themes of humanity, service, and social responsibility. Prof. Dr. Anjina Reddy K R, Principal of MKPM RVILS, delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the global significance of World Humanitarian Day and urging students to embrace compassion, selfless service, and volunteerism as future legal professionals. He encouraged active participation in such platforms to build advocacy and communication skills. The competition saw the enthusiastic participation of 22 students from various semesters. Participants picked topics randomly and delivered speeches that tested their critical thinking, clarity, and ability to engage an audience, embodying the spirit of humanitarianism and community service.

The vibrant campus of MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies®, affiliated to KSLU Hubballi and approved by BCI New Delhi, came alive on 27th September 2025 with the much-awaited Fresher’s Day – “CRESCENTIA”. The event served as a warm welcome to the new batch of students, blending tradition, talent, and youthful energy. The celebration commenced at 9:30 AM with a graceful welcome, followed by the Principal’s inaugural address, which inspired the gathering with words of encouragement, motivating students to embrace both academics and co-curricular activities in their legal journey. What followed was a spectacular showcase of cultural programmes, where students enthralled the audience with a series of mesmerising solo and group dance performances, showcasing their energy, rhythm, and creativity. Interactive games sessions anchored by emcees kept the excitement alive, ensuring the active participation of both freshers and seniors. After a short snack break, the program resumed with soulful musical performances by Nithin and team, leaving the audience spellbound. The grand finale came with the much-anticipated Fashion Walk (12:15 PM – 12:30 PM), where students dazzled with confidence, style, and charisma, making it a perfect conclusion to the day of celebration. The event truly reflected the spirit of camaraderie, creativity, and cultural vibrancy that defines MKPM RVILS. Crescentia 2025 was not just a fresher’s welcome—it was a celebration of togetherness, marking the beginning of new journeys and lifelong memories.

Cyclothon 2025 – Rally for Clean Air and the 79th Independence Day Flag Hoisting

MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies and RV PU College, Jayanagar, Bengaluru, successfully hosted Cyclothon 2025 – Rally for Clean Air on August 15, 2025. Commencing at 6:45 AM the event witnessed enthusiastic participation, spreading the message of fitness and environmental responsibility. The Chief Guest, Sri G Nagaraj, fondly known as Bengaluru’s Plogman and Founder of The Indian Ploggers Army, motivated the participants towards sustainable living. Sri N P Karthik, Trustee, RSST, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The Independence Day celebrations also featured a flag hoisting ceremony at 8:30 AM. The program was led by Prof. Dr. Anjina Reddy K R, Principal, MKPM RVILS, and Mr. Thejesh S, Principal, RV PU College. The event echoed the spirit of health, patriotism, and collective responsibility towards a cleaner environment. It brought together students, faculty, and the community to promote fitness and sustainable living. The cyclothon also highlighted eco-friendly practices while celebrating the nation’s Independence Day, leaving participants inspired to adopt greener lifestyles.

69th Kannada Rajyotsava, 2024

MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS) celebrated the 69th Kannada Rajyotsava on 29th November, 2024 as part of its campus cultural activities, honouring the language, heritage and traditions of Karnataka.

The event was graced by Shri Y.K. Muddu Krishna, Former Director of Kannada and Samskriti Ilake, Santa Shishunala Sharifa Award recipient and President of Karnataka Sugama Sangitha Parishad, Bengaluru, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the cultural identity of Karnataka and the importance of preserving Kannada language and traditions.

The Guest of Honour, Shri. Shravan Prabha, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, spoke to students about the relevance of language, culture and identity in professional life.

The programme was presided over by C.A. Dr. A.S. Vishnu Bharath, Trustee, RV Educational Institutions and Governing Council Member, RVILS. Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS, welcomed the gathering and reflected on the significance of celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava within the campus community.

The Cultural Committee of RVILS organised the Freshers’ Day celebration titled “Initium” on 19th October, 2024, to welcome the incoming batch of 2024–25.

The programme was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS. 

Senior students welcomed the freshers with a series of dance, music and cultural performances, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere on campus.

A fashion walk competition was organised for the fresher batch, with participation from over 36 students.

Mr. Shreyas S. (B.B.A. LL.B.) and Ms. Nainika S. (B.B.A. LL.B.) were crowned Mr. Freshie and Ms. Freshie.

Mr. Tarun Kumar (B.B.A. LL.B.) and Ms. Vaishnavi Krishna Kashyap (B.A. LL.B.) were awarded the titles, Freshie Prince and Freshie Princess.

The celebration concluded with a performance by the college band “Dhun”, bringing the event to an energetic close.

RVILS hosted the Summit at Campus, powered by Under25 and enabled by Zerodha, bringing together creativity, knowledge and student talent through a series of engaging sessions and performances.

The event featured interactive segments such as “Law 101: Stuff They Don’t Teach in Class,” moderated by Charitha Rao, which offered students practical insights into the legal profession beyond classroom learning. The programme also included student talent performances, stand-up comedy and musical performances, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere on campus.

The summit concluded with a live performance by Goutham Soni and Yash Jain, making the event a memorable celebration of student creativity and cultural expression at RVILS.
