This section showcases key institutional events organised by MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS), including academic programmes, competitions and outreach initiatives.

Republic Day Celebration – 2026

RVILS celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India in collaboration with RV PU College. The programme began with a flag-hoisting ceremony at 9:00 AM, marking the occasion with patriotic observance.

The celebration was jointly led by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS and Mr. Thejesh S., Principal, RV PU College. The event was attended by students, faculty and staff, who participated in the commemorative programme and observed the significance of Republic Day.

Talk on “Self-Management through Inner Awareness”

RVILS organised a talk titled “Self-Management through Inner Awareness”. The session was delivered by Mr. Sharath H.S., Director of Engineering, Caavo Labs India Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru.

During the session, the speaker discussed approaches to self-awareness, emotional balance and personal discipline, and shared practical perspectives on managing thoughts and improving focus in academic and professional settings.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS, and was attended by students and faculty of the institution.

Cyclothon 2025 – Rally for Clean Air and Independence Day Flag Hoisting

MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies organised Cyclothon 2025 – Rally for Clean Air as part of the Independence Day celebrations, encouraging awareness about fitness, environmental responsibility and sustainable living.

The event featured Sri G. Nagaraj, popularly known as Bengaluru’s “Plogman” and Founder of The Indian Ploggers Army, who motivated participants to adopt eco-friendly practices and promote environmental sustainability. The programme also included the 79th Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony and witnessed participation from students, faculty and members of the community.

Model Vidhana Sabha Competition 2024–2025

The Karnataka Institute for Law & Parliamentary Reform (KILPAR), in association with MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS), Bengaluru, organised the Model Vidhana Sabha Competition 2024–2025 on 1st March, 2025. The event aimed to provide students with practical exposure to legislative procedures and parliamentary functioning.

The inaugural session featured Sri G. Sridhar, Secretary to Government, Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation, Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru, who highlighted the importance of constitutional values and legislative processes. 

The event also included addresses by Dr. C.S. Patil, Director, KILPAR, and Dr. Revaiah Wodeyar, Research Head, KILPAR.

The competition brought together participants from various law institutions. At the valedictory session, the competition winners were announced and honoured with trophies and certificates.

Siddhanta Constitutional Quiz, 2024

The Siddhanta Constitutional Quiz 2024 was organised to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. The poster of the quiz was unveiled on 26th October, 2024 at Yuvapatha, Jayanagar, by Shri Ganapathi Prasanna, Special Public Prosecutor, Directorate of Enforcement, Bengaluru Zone.

A total of 30 teams from various institutes across Bengaluru registered for the competition. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Smt. Lakshmi Iyengar, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, following which the quiz competition was conducted in three rounds – preliminary round, semi-finals and finals.

Results

  • First Prize: Siddarth and Sushant Patil – KLE Law College
  • Second Prize: Apul Vaishnav and Suvansh Mahajan – National Law School of India University
  • Third Prize: K.R. Shankar Reddy and Priya – St Joseph’s College of Law

The top three teams were awarded cash prizes of ₹20,000, ₹12,000 and ₹8,000, respectively.

Induction Programme for First Semester B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. Students – 2024

RVILS organised an Induction Programme for first semester B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. students (Batch 2024–2025) from 20th to 28th September, 2024, to introduce new students to the academic environment and campus life at RVILS.

The programme featured interactive sessions on personal development, legal aid services, road safety awareness and digital legal research using SCC Online. Students were also introduced to various student clubs and institutional cells, providing an overview of the co-curricular and support systems available at the institution.

The induction concluded with Talent Day, where students showcased their talents through music, dance and other performances. The programme was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS.

Inauguration of First Semester Classes and Orientation Programme – 2024–2025

RVILS organised the Inauguration of First Semester Classes and Orientation Programme for the 7th Batch of B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. students on 19th September, 2024 at Mangala Mantapa, RVILS.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Mr Justice A.V. Chandrashekara, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour was Prof. Dr.  T. V. Raju, Director – Planning, RSST and the programme was presided over by Sri N.R. Nandish, Chairman, Governing Council, RVILS and Trustee, RSST in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS.

In his address, Justice Chandrashekara spoke about emerging areas of law including cyber law, privacy law, public interest litigation and the intersection of artificial intelligence and legal practice, while emphasising the importance of strong academic foundations and legal research.

The programme also included technical sessions by Ms. Aparna Ramesh, Partner, ATV Legal, Bengaluru, and Mr. Rishivanjas Raghavan, Consultant, Deccan Herald, who interacted with students on contemporary legal practice and professional development.

2nd Graduation Ceremony – 2019–2024

RVILS organised the 2nd Graduation Ceremony for the 2019–2024 batch on 10th August, 2024. The ceremony honoured the graduating students of the B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes.

The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mr Justice Aravind Kumar, Judge, Supreme Court of India, addressed the graduates on the importance of honesty, humility and perseverance in the legal profession, encouraging them to pursue excellence with dedication.

The programme was also graced by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, RVEI, and presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS. Graduating students received their certificates and outgoing awards were presented to outstanding achievers of the batch.

Annual Day – 2023–2024

RVILS celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2023–2024 on 3rd August, 2024, at the RVILS campus.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Mr Justice B.M. Shyam Prasad, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest, who encouraged students to consider careers in the judiciary and public service. Dr. M.K. Ramesh, Distinguished Jurist Professor, HNLU Raipur, and Former Professor of Law, NLSIU Bengaluru, attended as the Guest of Honour and spoke on the importance of learning beyond the classroom.

The programme was presided over by Sri. P.S. Nandakumar, Member, Governing Council, RVILS, and chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS. The event featured student cultural performances and the presentation of awards to academic achievers.

Induction Programme for the Sixth Batch of B.A. LL.B and B.B.A. LL.B

RVILS conducted an Induction Programme for the sixth batch of B.A. LL.B and B.B.A. LL.B five-year integrated law programmes. The session was delivered by Sri Baramappa Mysore, who addressed newly admitted law students on the theme “What You Sow is What You Reap.”

The programme introduced students to the values of legal education, emphasising discipline, commitment and the importance of responsible academic engagement during their duration of law studies.

Freshers’ Day – Sixth Batch (2023–2024)

RVILS organised Freshers’ Day for the sixth batch of B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. students (Academic Year 2023–2024) on 16th December, 2023. The event welcomed the newly admitted students and provided an opportunity for them to interact with faculty members and seniors.

The programme was graced by Mr. Mankala Surya Teja, Alumni of RVILS as the guest for the occasion. The event was held in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS, along with teaching and non-teaching staff. The celebration included student performances and interactive activities, creating an engaging start to campus life for the new batch.

Inauguration and Orientation Programme – Sixth Batch (2023–2024)

RVILS organised the Inauguration and Orientation Programme for the sixth batch of B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. students (Academic Year 2023–2024) on 4th November, 2023, at Jayanthi Suryanarayana Chetty Auditorium, RV Teachers College, Bengaluru.

The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice M. Nagaprasanna, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, and presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, RVEI. The second edition of the institutional magazine “Samarthana” was also released during the event.

The programme included a session on “Insights into the Legal Profession” by Sri Anand Muttalli, Managing Partner, ATV Legal, Bengaluru, followed by an orientation briefing students on the academic curriculum and institutional regulations.

Farewell – “Voyage of Memories” (2018–2023 Batch)

RVILS organised “Voyage of Memories”, a farewell programme for the first graduating batch of B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. (2018–2023). The event was organised by students from the first to fourth year to celebrate the academic journey of the outgoing batch.

The programme was held in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution.

Graduation Day – First Graduating Batch (2018–2023)

RVILS organised its Graduation Day Ceremony for the first graduating batch (2018–2023) on 20th August, 2023, at Sivananda Sarma Kalakshetra, DAPM RV Dental College, Bengaluru.

The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Shri Justice Prasanna B. Varale, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest and was presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, RVEI. Members of the Board, Trustees of RSST and Governing Council Members of RVILS were also present.

The ceremony celebrated the successful completion of the B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes, recognising the dedication and achievements of the graduating students.

 

Annual Day – 2022–2023

RVILS celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2022–2023 on 20th August, 2023, at Sivananda Sarma Kalakshetra, DAPM RV Dental College, J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice R. Devdas, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest and presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, RVEI.

The programme included the presentation of the Annual Report for 2022–2023 and the distribution of awards to students for achievements in academics, sports and cultural activities. The celebration also featured student cultural performances, recognising the diverse talents and accomplishments of the RVILS student community.

International Women’s Day – 2023

RVILS observed International Women’s Day 2023 in association with Navajyothi School, Tattaguppe, Bengaluru South.

The programme was held in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, RVILS, as the Chief Guest, and A. Thomas, Father and Director, Navajyothi School, who presided over the event.

As part of the programme, Ms. Safalya S. Wagle and Ms. Maithra Badagi, Assistant Professors of Law, delivered awareness sessions for girl students on “Good Touch – Bad Touch” and menstrual hygiene, focusing on personal safety and health awareness.

Faculty Development Programme on “Professional Excellence for Teachers”

A one-day Faculty Development Programme on “Professional Excellence for Teachers” was conducted at MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies. The programme was attended by teaching faculty from various institutions.

The programme comprised three sessions delivered by Dr. T.V. Raju, Director – Planning, RVEI, Bengaluru; Dr. S. Ranganath, Former Director, RV Institute of Sanskrit Studies, Bengaluru; and Sri Jayasimha, Professional Trainer, Bengaluru.

The Story of Under25

RVILS hosted “The Story of Under25” as part of the Summit at Campus, powered by Under25 and enabled by Zerodha. The event brought together students for a series of interactive sessions, discussions and performances.

The programme included sessions such as “Law 101: Stuff They Don’t Teach in Class,” moderated by Charitha Rao, which explored practical perspectives on law beyond classroom learning. The event also featured student talent performances, stand-up comedy by Harman Preet Singh, and interactive activities organised by the Under25 team.

The programme concluded with a musical performance by Goutham Soni and Yash Jain, bringing together students for a day of engagement and creative participation on campus.

Annual Day – 2021–2022

RVILS celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2021–2022 on 17th September, 2022, at Shashwathi Auditorium.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. C. Basavaraju, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi, as the Chief Guest and Prof. Dr. Sudesh V., Professor, University Law College, Bengaluru, as the Guest of Honour. The programme was presided over by Sri P.S. Nandakumar, Trustee, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS.

The programme included the presentation of the annual report and the distribution of awards to students for achievements in academics, sports and cultural activities, along with student cultural performances.

Delhi Educational Tour

The students of X Semester B.A.LL.B and B.B.A.LL.B. visited the Supreme Court of India, Indian Parliament, Rashtrapathi Bhavan, etc. as part of Educational Tour to Delhi. It was a great opportunity for the students to experience and witness the functioning of the Government and the justice delivery system in the Apex court of the country.

Students of the X Semester B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. programmes of RVILS participated in an educational tour to Delhi, during which they visited important constitutional institutions including the Supreme Court of India, the Indian Parliament and Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to observe the functioning of key institutions of governance and the justice delivery system at the Supreme Court of India, the apex court of the country.

The educational tour enabled students to gain practical exposure to the constitutional and institutional framework of India, complementing their academic study of law and governance.
